Heraldic description
Azure one chevron Vert surmounted by a gold cross cantoned with two ears of the last, in base a tricorn sable, in chief argent a wolf sable.
Motto of the Richer dit Louveteau : Rich in heart and spirit
Meaning
The blue background symbolizes our french origin as well as the Saint-Lawrence river on which our ancestor had to sail to arrive in New France. The chevron Vert surmounted by a gold cross represents the Mount-Royal, symbol of Montreal, where Jacques Richer dit Louveteau settled. The golden ears remind us that the first generations were farming the land for living. The tricorn has been weared by our ancestor as a soldier. The wolf, brave and noble symbol, reminds Louvetot, his place of origin in France, which has also the wolf in their coat of arms.
This coat of arms was created on the occasion of the gathering of the Richers dit Louveteau of America on July 2nd and 3rd, 2011. Our ancestor being of modest origin, neither him nor his parents had personal coat of arms in France.
